Kaehler's Mill
Maud is shown here in April, 2004. She is now a bred heifer of moderate frame, exhibiting capacity, thickness
and body length. Based on her dam and sire, Maud will be a sound,
long-lived producer.
Maud has been raised only on seasonal
pasture and winter alfalfa hay. She has received no grain or
additives other than mineral.
With her stylish carriage and rich red
coat, Maud would be a highlight to any herd. Maud would be a
particularly attractive addition to direct marketers who host farm
visits by customers.
Maud is a product of two heterozygous
blacks. At Kaehler's Mill Farm, we produce red Galloways from
black Galloways. In order to maintain a broad gene pool, we do not
line breed to produce reds. Accordingly, we produce only one or
two red calves each year.
Maud's sire is Kaehler's Mill Fergus,
a splendid 1996 heterozygous black 1996, born and raised on Kaehler's
Mill Farm with no grain whatsoever..
Maud's dam is Wild Rice Hellena - 93,
a prolific 1993 heterozygous black.
